What Is Intelligence? Reflections from Genoma’s Workshop on AI and Business

At a recent workshop with managers and students, Genoma explored one of the most pressing questions of our time: what is intelligence?

The session focused on the practical side of AI for business — how to implement it effectively, optimize processes, and address the challenges that come with adoption. Yet, as always when discussing AI, the conversation quickly went deeper. Honest, raw debates emerged around the fundamental shift we are all living through.

Artificial Intelligence is not just another tool; it represents an epochal change. It forces companies and individuals alike to ask:
– What happens when humans are no longer “useful” in the traditional sense?
– How does identity change when work is no longer at the center?
– What are the risks of relying on AI for decisions, from the mundane to the life-changing?

There is no going back. Every day, new technologies — from GPT models to quantum chips to humanoid robots — push the boundaries further. Companies must adopt AI to stay competitive, but they must also do it responsibly.

That means acknowledging bias, limitations, and ethical risks. It means asking not only what AI can do, but who we want to become alongside it. At Genoma, this is the core of our mission: to ensure technology doesn’t reduce our humanity, but instead awakens it — protecting clarity, creativity, and empathy in a world that evolves faster each day
